There are two main work seasons with some overlap. The summer growing season goes from mid to late April until early November and requires 10 full-time staff. The winter season (November to April) is mostly comprised of packing vegetables for markets requiring two full-time staff. See current job postings below.

We are seeking 5 enthusiastic people to bring our organic farm team to 10 for
the 2017 growing season. If you have experience working outside in all weather
and have the interest and energy to help us grow a wide variety of organic vegetables,

Position: Organic Market Garden Grower/Packer
Duration: Late April to early November
Must be able to commit to working full-time to the end of October.
Description: The work varies from week to week but will include transplanting, weeding, harvesting, preparation of produce for market. Experience is an asset but we are happy to train people with a positive attitude who are keen to learn new skills.
This work is best suited for people who are:
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm with a half hour for lunch. During July and August, we add an extra hour per day by starting earlier (6am - 3pm).
Accommodation: Applicants should live, or be prepared to re-locate to, within a 30 minute commute of the farm location in Mara. That includes the communities of Salmon Arm, Enderby, Grindrod or Sicamous.
Remuneration: The starting wage is $15.50/hour. Additionally there will be a $1/hr raise/review at 3 months. Free organic vegetables available to take home at the end of each day is another benefit of employment on our organic vegetable farm.
